| Position Summary: | Informal educational programming to professionals in the green industry such as: wholesale and retail nursery growers, landscape contractors, landscape managers, grounds keepers, golf course superintendents, and interiorscapers. Topics might include new plant introductions, plant production and marketing, pest management and pesticide safety, fertilizer management, water conservation, horticultural waste recycling, and environmental stewardship. Working as the coordinator of the Arizona Certified Landscape Professional (ACLP) program and the Arizona Certified Nursery Professional (ACNP) program for southern Arizona. Offer pruning and tree care classes as part of the SmartScape in cooperation with the University of Arizona and the City of Tucson Water Conservation Office (for professional landscapers and maintenance professionals). Also co-coordinate the ISA training program in southern Arizona and teach sections on pruning, fertilizers, and plant identification. |
